Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Man Ray’s first cinematic work in 1923, “Return to Reason” is a restoration of the surrealist and dreamlike classic silent films by one of the most prolific American visual artists. With a new soundtrack composed and performed by filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and musician Carter Logan’s band Sqürl, the film featuring with the shorts “Return to Reason” (1923), “Emak-Bakia” (1926), “The Starfish” (1928) and “The Mysteries of the Château of Dice” (1929).

The restoration process was led by Womanray and Cinenovo, sourcing original prints from various parts of the world, in partnership with La Cinémathèque Française, the Centre Pompidou, the Library of Congress, the CNC and Cineteca di Bologna.
