International Perspective
A portrait of Irish writer and playwright Samuel Beckett (1906-1989): Parisian bon-vivant, World War II resistance fighter, winner of the Nobel Prize, philandering husband, recluse man. In spite of being an acclaimed artist worldwide, Beckett was a man acutely aware of his own failings. In crisis after receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1969, he begins to examine his life and his choices.
