Born to Be Blind (2003)
Sobre o filme
They are sisters. They are three. They are blind. United by this rare and unexpected twist of destiny, they spend all their lives singing and playing instruments in exchange for small tips in the cities and fairs of the Northeast of Brazil, one of the poorest regions in the country. The film follows the day-to-day affairs of these women and reveals their curious survival strategies in which parents and neighbours participate. The film delves into their story, uncovering a complex theme of love, death, misery and art. And the film shows, in an unexpected twist, the effect of the cinema on the lives of these women, turning them into celebrities. A film in which the director and the characters are confronted by the bonds the form between them.
