The Syrian Bride (2004)

Meant to be the happiest day in her life, Mona’s forthcoming wedding day may become her saddest. The bride knows that the moment she crosses the Syrian-Israeli border to wed Syrian TV star, Tallel, she risks not get permission to go back home. This means she may never again set foot in Majdal Shams, the largest town in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, where her whole family lives.
The plot revolves around the trials and tribulations faced by those involved in this wedding from both sides of the border, especially Amal, the bride’s elder sister and a woman of many hidden secrets. At the end of a long day, the family, local leaders and military authorities are caught up in a vicious circle of uncertainties and find themselves stuck in this no-man’s land.
