Scenographer and theater director, Gianni Ratto was born in Italy in 1916 and lived in Brazil as from 1954. In the company of his daughter, he retraces the trajectory of his life passing through Genoa, Milan, Florence, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro. In a visit to places and to people who were important to him, he talks to Fernanda Montenegro, Dario Fo, Maria Della Costa, and Millôr Fernandes. With each, Gianni elaborates on his work in theater and puts forth his ideas as one who not only performs, but thinks of theater from a humanistic perspective.
