You don’t always have to take the road to make a big trip. Neighbours is a documentary about a block, very near to the directors’s home. At that place now there’s a slum, right there where before existed only a forest and very few houses, remaining of little farms. In the nineties, in the middle of a real state boom, many buildings were constructed nearby. The film was based not on a hypothesis but on a research, planned to find out what the inhabitants of the slums and some humble houses think of those people living in the big buildings - and the other way around. In other words, the film tries to stablish which are the points in common between theses two different worlds. The testimonies reflect the opinions of all these people about sociability, which is in part a mirror of all the Brazilian society.
