A boy identified just as “the son”, tries to ressuscitate the father through recollections. So, the dead one attends to the family’s meals, to his wife’s bed during the night and to other daily situations. In the director’s first film, it had already been observed Maddin’s obsession for death and his preference for interacting living and dead characters.
