A journey on a red-sailed tartan boat to the Aeolian Islands, following the memories of Giovanna Taviani, who more than twenty years ago starred in the film Kaos by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, shot in the islands. Franco “Figlio D’Oro”, a local fisherman who also played a role in the movie, talks about his memories and acts as a go between with the islanders of Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Stromboli and Paranarea. They talk about their escapes and their disenchantments, which is often similar to the stories of the characters from some movies that were shot there, like Ingrid Bergman’s Karin in Stromboli (1950), by Rossellini, or Monica Vitti’s Claudia in The Adventure (1960), by Antonioni.
