Sobre o filme

A wealthy and elegant married couple, Wayne and Eileen Hayes live it up in Pittsburgh’s high society. They lead a quiet life and are envied by all their friends when one day a man kidnaps Wayne in his own home in broad daylight. From now on, there will be no more privacy or a quiet moment in Eileen’s life. All sorts of doubts cross her mind, even the idea that her husband might have set up his own disappearance. The FBI starts investigating the case, and suddenly all the family’s secrets, like old extra-marital affairs, come to surface and involve the couple’s two children. While in captivity, the millionaire who was always totally in control of all situations realizes that now his life depends on his ability to negotiate with his kidnapper, Arnold, a most unpredictable man who’s got nothing to lose. Used to playing tough in the business world, Wayne feels that his captor is not a professional criminal and thinks he can win by reversing the game and putting psychological pressure on his opponent. From now on, the confrontation is between one who’s achieved the American dream and one who’s hardly got even close to reaching it.
