Reinas (2005)
Sobre o filme
Five modern, independent mothers in the twenty-first century, show how far they can go in tormenting the living daylights out of their children in only one weekend - the time span for the story. Mothers here are demystified, flawed and, above all - above their own children - they are women. These women reign supreme, as indicated in the name of the film, and their children are about to get married. Ofélia, one of the overprotective mothers, is actually thinking in terms of giving up her business in Argentina, migrating to Madrid, and moving in with her son. Reyes is a selfish, intolerant mother more concerned with her career as an actress than with the wedding of her own son. Nuria, in turn, is unstable, somewhat promiscuous, and behaves more like a friend than she does a mother. Helena is obsessed with her professional career and the least maternal of all of them. Magda is a strict judge who, even in her personal life, is slow to relent.
