Married for ten years, Leonor and Rogério decide to celebrate their wedding anniversary with a party on their property in the Azores. The guests include Irene, a Greek middle-aged actress, and Michel, her French lover. A bon vivant and a seducer, Michel feels strongly attracted to beautiful Leonor, and she accepts his overtures. Rogério and Irene observe all, but do not interfere. In fact, they seem to find the situation amusing. Five years later, Irene and Michel are back again, this time, through a dinner invitation. Michel has not forgotten Leonor. The reciprocal is also true, aggravated by the fact that she now feels a lot more bored with life than previously.
