Murderball (2005)
Sobre o filme
The recovery of paraplegics by means of sports activities is the subject of this documentary. In special chairs, young handicapped players face each other on basketball courts in powerful duels. The individual struggles of the main characters are presented concomitantly: a youngster in search of redemption, a retired player who begins to coach the Canadian team and is seen as a traitor by the Americans; and a youngster, newly-handicapped, in search of hope in sports. Such themes as sexuality and co-existence with society are also broached. Winner of the prizes from the public and special prize from the jury at the 2005 Sundance Festival.
