Brand New Day (1987)
Sobre o filme
A documentary about the Eurythmics tour of Japan to promote their fifth CD, Revenge, released in the late 80’s. It was a time when the duo made up of guitar player Dave Stewart and singer Annie Lennox was at the height of their popularity with hits like Thorn in my Side e Missionary Man. These Western artists come under the influence of the Japanese culture by exploring its music and combining the sources of its millennial tradition with the assimilation of state-of-the-art equipment. The film is complemented by footage capturing the band relaxing in the backstage, and by the onstage participation of Japanese artists, such as the composer and actor Ryuchi Sakamoto (who was in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and The Last Emperor, which he also made the soundtrack for).
