Bab’aziz (2004)
Sobre o filme
Ishtar is a lively little girl who tags along with her old greatgrandfather, a blind dervish, in a desert crusade. The objective is to be part of a religious encounter that takes place only every 30 years. Crossing a veritable ocean of sand, they must find the site of the ceremony, trusting only to their faith, and listening to the infinite silence of the desert with their hearts. During the journey, Bab?Aziz entertains his little granddaughter telling her ancient tales such as the one about the prince who abandoned his kingdom to become a dervish. And he waits patiently for the desert to tell him its secret, namely, the site of the religious retreat. When, at last, he does find it, he bids his granddaughter farewell and entrusts her to the care of his friend Zaid. The time has come for Bab?Aziz to merge with the world, to become one of the countless stories that are told in the desert - tales as numerous as the grains of sand.
