Sobre o filme

The film tells the story of Curt Unckel, German by birth, who became one of Brazil’s greatest social scientists. He arrived in the country at the age of 20 and lived there until his death in 1945. For 40 years, Curt lived among different Indigenous peoples. In 1906, he was baptized by the Guarani with the name Nimuendajú, “the one who found his place in the world,” abandoning his family surname to adopt the Indigenous name. His life was marked by an unrelenting quest to understand diverse cultures and by his deep immersion in them. Nimuendajú was also an outraged witness to the persecution and expulsion of Indigenous peoples from their lands by landowners and the government.
