The film is set in Medellín, in 1987, when a group of marginalized teenagers steals a news camera to document every detail of their dangerous lives. “Barrio Triste” delves into the anxieties of a youth living on the margins of history, yearning to be understood. A redefinition of the found footage genre, it unfolds as a haunting and poignant coming-of-age story marked by a disturbing twist.
Presented at the Venice and Toronto film festivals.
