In Armenia, in a time before peace but after war. A well-driller is mistaken foran enemy and killed in the countryside. In the city, his family decides to hidehis death from his daughter, Claudette. They ask a soldier, Atom, to take heraway before her father’s funeral. The next morning, Claudette returns fromchoir practice and finds no one at home except Atom. He reassures her that herfamily is waiting for her at a remote monastery. On the road together, faces andplaces on the brink of disappearing come into existence just as they fade away.
