A ‘found footage’ documentary assembled exclusively from post-socialist Romanian advertisements. Drawing on the rubble of Romania’s long history of transition period, the film talks about love and death, the human body and its fragility, the natural and the supernatural and, of course, socialism and capitalism. Jumping between found poetry and an outdated encyclopedia, between trash art and Summa theologiae, the documentary teamed up Radu Jude with philosopher Christian Ferencz-Flatz to make and hilarious takedown of meta capitalist mythology.
Presented at the Locarno Film Festival.
