Sobre o filme

After his mother’ death, Ray, an introspective 16-year-old boy, panics and seeks help from the troubled Maria, his junkie neighbor who is trying to hide an unwanted pregnancy. She helps Ray to find his elder brother, Spider, but it doesn‚Äôt take him very long to realize that looking after his younger brother is more than he can cope with. When Maria is thrown out of the apartment where she lives, she goes after Spider and discovers that he, in a desperate act, abandoned Ray to his own devices. Both go out searching for the boy and they find him lost and scared in an empty court around Times Square. They steal a car and drive all through the night until they come to a desert beach at daybreak. Having nowhere to go, they break into an empty holiday house, and in an attempt to part ways with their decadent past, they try to build up a new life and make up for the family comfort and security they‚Äôve always lacked. But their make-believe world is short lived. Jealousy sets in and their “dream family” fantasy begins to crumble.
