In Iran, an Afghan teenage girl, daughter of immigrants, fights to pursue her dream of becoming a professional Muay Thai fighter —despite her family’s conservative mindset, physical abuse, and an anti-immigrant environment. Working day and night, she pays for her Muay Thai classes without her family’s knowledge. Through this sport, she not only aims for success in the ring but also strives to overcome life’s challenges. The documentary portrays the perseverance of generation Z in changing the course of their future, asserting their rights —especially as women —, and seeking freedom in life, even at the risk of losing it.
Winner of the special mention from the international jury of the Generation 14plus section at the Berlin International Film Festival.
