Mostra Brasil
The name of the language is usually the name of its people because it is the trait that defines their cultural identity and experience in the world. But Brazil lives in an specific linguistic situation: at the same time that 98% of the population speaks the same language, Portuguese, we are a country with one of the greatest linguistic diversities in the world with more than 160 native and African languages spoken in our territory. So what sets us apart as a nation? Spoken in 11 languages and in the variants of Brazilian Portuguese, the documentary is an opportunity to think about Brazil and our identity based on this enormous diversity. Do Brazilians still speak Portuguese or is there already a Brazilian language?
