In Ukraine, in 1996, a few months before the death penalty was banned from the country, two old friends, detective Sabitov and forense psychiatrist Oleksandr, investigate the murder of a colleague. They need to deal with post-Soviet bureaucracy, politics, memories from the past, and with an old feeling: they were both in love with the deceased’s wife.
