New Zealand filmmaker, actor and producer. His credits as writer-director include the Academy Award nominated short film “Two Cars, One Night” (2005), and the feature films “Eagles vs. Shark” (2007), “Boy” (2010), exhibited in both Sundance and Berlin film festivals, “What We Do in the Shadows” (2014), presented at the Toronto International Film Festival, and “Jojo Rabbit” (2019), for which he won the best adapted screenplay at the Academy Awards. He is also the director of some films of the Thor series and, most recently, has starred as well as directed the series “Our Flag Means Death” (2022).
