Born in Brandenburg, Germany, in 1965, Sylke initially studied social studies in Berlin. She studied at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (DFFB). Her works include the short films “Auszeit” (1997), “Hund Mit T” (1999) and “Immer Mir” (2000), and the feature films like “Kroko” (2003), “Hab Mich Lieb” (2004), “Mondkalb” (2007) and “Schönefeld Boulevard” (2014). She also directed one of the short films in the feature “Germany 09” (2009), presented at the 32nd Mostra.
