Born in Germany in 1976. Writer, screenwriter and director, Sonja grew up in Munich and currently lives in Berlin. She studied at Munich Film School (HFF Munich) while working as a commercial director. She made, among others, the medium-length film “Karma Cowboy” (2002), awarded at the Visions du Réel Film Festival, and the features “Hotel Very Welcome” (2007) and “Hedi Schneider is Stuck” (2015), both screened at the Berlin International Film Festival.
