Born in Winnipeg, Canada, McKenna incorporates the use of archival elements and visual experimentation in his films. He made, amongst others, the short movies “Controversies” (2015), “Voices of Kidnapping” (2017) and “I Used to Live There” (2023), presented at the Locarno Film Festival, in addition to the feature films “The Heart of Madame Sabali” (2015) and “Cranks” (2019).
