Born in Marília, São Paulo, Brazil, in 1979. Grota has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and Ph.D. in literature, all from Universidade Estadual de Londrina. He directed short films like “Satori Uso” (2007), “Booker Pittman” (2008), and “Haruo Ohara” (2010), and the feature films “East West” (2016, 40th Mostra), “Isto (Não) É um Assalto” (2018) and “Passagem Secreta” (2021). He is one of the founders of Kinoarte (Londrina Film Institute) and the creator and editor of the magazine Taturana (2007-2012).
