Born in Ukraine in 1985 and now based in Germany. Chernov started his career in photojournalism in 2005 and joined the Associated Press in 2014. Since then, he has covered major conflicts, social issues and environmental crises across the world. Most recently, he documented Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “20 Days in Mariupol” is his first feature film.
