Born in Italy in 1912. One of the greatest names in the history of cinema, Michelangelo Antonioni is known primarily for his work in scene composition, use of shot duration, and formal rigor recognized in films such as: "L`Avventura" (1960); "La Notte" (1961); "L`Eclisse" (1962); "Blow-Up" (1966); and "The Passenger" (1975). The 47th Mostra held a retrospective of 23 titles, including short films, documentaries, and his emblematic films that helped define modern cinema. Michelangelo Antonioni also painted and held several exhibitions of his work in Italy, and one of his works illustrated the art of that year`s Mostra poster. Antonioni passed away in 2007, at the age of 94.
