Born in Versailles, France, in 1963, he attended Art School in Paris and played in the band Oui Oui. He directed music videos for artists and bands like Björk, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Daft Punk and The White Stripes. In 1998, he made the short “La Lettre”. Gondry directed the feature films “Human Nature” (2001), “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004), for which he and co-writer Charlie Kaufman won an Academy Award for best original screenplay, “The Science of Sleep” (2006, 31st Mostra), “Be Kind Rewind” (2008, 32nd Mostra), a segment of the film “Tokyo!” (2008, 33rd Mostra) and “Mood Indigo” (2013).
