Malgorzata was born in Kraków, in 1973, and Englert was born in Warsaw, in 1975, both in Poland. They have worked together as a writing and directing duo on various projects for over 20 years. Furthermore, Englert also works as a director of photography in the films they have made. Among their work are “Stranger” (2004, 29th Mostra), “33 Scenes From Life” (2008), Special Jury Award at the Locarno Film Festival, “In the Name of” (2012, 37th Mostra), winner of the Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival, “Body” (2015, 39th Mostra), best direction at Berlin, “Mug” (2018, 42nd Mostra), Special Jury Award also at the Berlinale, and “Never Gonna Snow Again” (2020), awarded at the Venice International Film Festival.
