Luiz Fernando Carvalho is recognized for works with a strong relationship with literature. His first feature film, "Lavoura Arcaica" (2001), based on the novel by Raduan Nassar, was elected one of the 100 most important films in the history of Brazilian cinema and received more than 50 international awards. On television, his work is marked by a strong authorial trait based on the encounter between different artistic languages.
