Born in Brasília, Distrito Federal, Brazil, in 1970. Director and screenwriter, Belmonte has over two decades of experience in Brazilian cinema and television. He made feature films such as “Conception” (2005), “If Nothing Else Works Out” (2008, 32nd Mostra), “Alemão: Both Sides of the Operation” (2014) and “Alemão 2” (2022), “Entre Idas e Vindas” (2016), “Carcereiros - O Filme” (2019, 43rd Mostra), “O Auto da Mentira” (2021), “The Truths” (2021, 45th Mostra), “The Pastor and the Revolutionary” (2022, 46th Mostra) and “A Happy Family” (2023, 47th Mostra). For television, he directed, among others, the series “Carcereiros” (2017–2021) and “As Five” (2020).
