Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1964. Jardim graduated in journalism in Rio de Janeiro and studied film at the New York University. In addition to his work on television series, he directed documentaries like “For a Better Day” (2005), which won the Youth Award and the Jury Prize at the 29th Mostra, “Window of the Soul” (2001), with Walter Carvalho, which won the Jury Prize and the Audience Award for best documentary at the 25th Mostra, “Waste Land” (2010), with Lucy Walker and Karen Harley, awarded at Berlin and Sundance, winner of the Itamaraty Award at the 34th Mostra and nominated to the Academy Award for best documentary. He also made the fiction features “Amor?” (2011), “Getúlio” (2014) and “Crossroads” (2020).
