Born in the USA in 1971, and is based in Belgium. She has a degree in literature from Princeton University and a masters in documentary film from Stanford University. Among her fiction feature films are “Khadak” (2006, 30th Mostra), winner of Venice Lion of the Future, “Altiplano” (2009, 32nd Mostra), “The Fifth Season” (2012), “King of the Belgians” (2016, 40th Mostra) and “The Barefoot Emperor” (2019), all of then made with Peter Brosens and presented at film festivals like Venice, Cannes and Toronto.
