Born in Fortaleza, Brazil, in 1983. He is director, screenplay writer and editor, and was part of the artist collective Alumbramento from 2008 to 2016. He directed short films, amongst them “Flash Happy Society” (2009) and “Dogs Are Said to See Things” (2012), exhibited at the Locarno Film Festival. Parente also directed feature films, including “Estrada para Ythaca” (2010), “Os Monstros” (2011), winner of a special jury mention at the BAFICI, and “The Mysterious Death of Pérola” (2014), “The Cannibal Club” (2018) and “Inferninho” (2018), the last three presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
