Born in Hewlett, USA, in 1948. He graduated in Philosophy from the University of California. One of the leading American documentarians, Morris directed films such as: "Gates of Heaven" (1978); "The Thin Blue Line" (1988); "A Brief History of Time" (1992); "Mr. Death" (1999); "The Fog of War" (2002), winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary; "Standard Operating Procedure" (2008); "The Unknown Known" (2013); and "American Dharma" (2018). At the 47th Mostra, Errol Morris was honored with the Humanidade Award.
