Born in Belgium in 1979. He graduated from the National Superior Institute of Performing Arts (INSAS), in Brussels, in the directing section. Schmitz has directed three medium-length films, including “Car Wash” (2018) and “Lucie Lost Her Horse” (2022), presented in film festivals like Rotterdam, Clermont-Ferrand, FIDMarseille and Indielisboa. “The Other Laurens” is his first feature.
