Born in Nazareth, Israel, in 1981, and is son of a Palestinian father and British-Irish mother. Basil studied for an MA script development at Screen Academy Scotland, in Edinburgh, then worked on a number of television productions in London. He directed the short film “Ave Maria” (2015), presented at the Cannes Film Festival and an Academy Award nominated. “A Gaza Weekend” is his first feature film.
