Danielson was born in Vittskövle, Sweden, in 1976, he studied film at the Valand Academy, in Gothenburg. Van Aertryck was born in Paris, France, in 1989. They have worked together as part of the Swedish production company Plattform Produktion since 2013. They made the short documentary “Ten Meter Tower” (2016), awarded at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, and other several short films which premiered at festivals including Cannes, Toronto and Sundance. “The King Said, What a Fantastic Machine” is their debut feature-length film.
