Born in Singapore in 1984. He started his film education at an early age of 17, and he was trained in film schools in Singapore and UK. Directed short movies like “Ah Ma” (2007, 31st Mostra), “Hotel 66” (2009) and “The Reunion Dinner” (2011), in addition to the feature films “Ilo Ilo” (2013, 37th Mostra), winner of the Golden Camera at the Cannes Film Festival, and “Wet Season” (2019, 43rd Mostra), presented at the Toronto Film Festival.
