Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1970. He directed several TV commercials and videoclips. Waddington debuted as a feature film director in 1999 with “Twins”. He is also the director of movies like “Me You Them” (2000), which received a special mention in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, “Viva São João!” (2002, 36th Mostra), “House of Sand” (2005), presented at the Berlin International Film Festival and awarded at Sundance, “Maria Bethânia - Pedrinha de Aruanda” (2007), “Lope: The Outlaw” (2010, 34th Mostra), “Party Crashers” (2012), “Chacrinha - O Velho Guerreiro” (2018) and “The Loss” (2019, 43rd Mostra), in addition to works for television such as the series “Under Pressure” (2017-2022).
