James Journey to Jerusalem (2003)
Sobre o filme
In the African village of Entshongwen, young James is chosen to go on a special mission: a peregrination to Jerusalem. But Israel is no longer the promised land as idealized by James and by his people. At the airport, he is regarded with suspicion as an illegal immigrant and is remanded into custody where he must await repatriation. In his distress, he prays to God that he be allowed to accomplish his mission and a miracle takes place: an unknown person puts up bail for him. However, he is soon introduced to the other side of the coin: his ‘savior’ confiscates his passport and demands reimbursement for the amount paid and compels James to work for his cleaning company. James is then plunged into bitter economic reality and faces up to a number of difficulties.
