Three stories of people inside a catastrophe - a film about relief-aid and a journey to self-discovery. Unexpectedly, three young German students are sent as volunteers to the disaster area in Sri Lanka after the 2004 Tsunami. After a short introduction to psycho-traumatology, Sabina, Sophie and Andre have to face a shattered country, ruins and common graves. At the same time, in German suburbia, Jan Heinrich has built up the world‘s largest private Internet archive on the Tsunami disaster. The catastrophe has become his guide line in life and has given sense to his obsession. Alison volunteers as a nurse. Her diary draws an inside view on the horror and suffering of this human catastrophe.
