Sobre o filme
For the first time in history, the Amateur World Championship of Sumo Wrestling will be held outside Japan, more specifically in Riesa, a small city in Germany. Kalle who is in business and a rascal, tries to convince his friend Bruno, weighing almost 400 pounds, to take part in the competition. The boy has just lost his job, is somewhat depressed and allows himself to be persuaded in the hopes of winning the money from the prize. To assist in the dispute over the title, Akashi, the owner of an unassuming but respectable Japanese restaurant, is hired to train beginner Bruno. The rigorous training imposed on the inexperienced wrestler becomes a journey of self-knowledge, self-esteem and success for Bruno, until then in the grips of an inferiority complex.
