Sobre o filme

Cuba, 1958, in the last year of the Fulgêncio Batista regime, the rebels, led by Fidel Castro, took to the streets. Politics, however, seems very distant in the city of Holguín, where Che cares for his family and a friend, an amusing policeman, Rosado, all the while helping the rebels. In the Frexes cinema, Boy, Che’ grandson, watches all the films brought from Hollywood, with his grandmother. When the rebels destroy the central power plant that supplies the city with electricity, Boy, who is crazy about cinema, is shattered. To get around the problem, he devises a ‚Äòcinemobile‚Äô, using a car engine as drive. His life can hardly be described as easy. His father has been ordered into exile, all of which destroys his mother’ life. And he is face to face with the difficulties of first love, in an agitated friendship with Julia, a mysterious American blonde who becomes his muse and mentor.
