Young Ricky rides his motorcycle up and down, in between real and imaginary danger to come through unscathed - but undeniably transformed - to the last days of a hectic summer. The relentless winds of the season blow across a landscape of complete inactivity and boredom, other than for some assaults committed and the use of prohibited substances. An age of innocence is coming to an end, and a new path, dark and of little hope, lies in wait, as do the ships she can see from her room window. As was to be expected, it will be an act of violence that is to force Ricky into an adult world. She is to face a new lifestyle with the dose of pain and suffering that are part of existence and to which we are all of us subject.
