After trying unsuccessfully to adopt a child in Denmark, 42-year-old architect Thomas goes to Brazil to try a final shot on his dream. In São Paulo he meets Jacob, an old time friend, who him to Maria, a humble pregnant girl. They settle down an agreement: she gives him her baby in exchange of a better life. Thomas moves to her house and sooner baby Rosa is born. But their attraction is threatened when Denilson, Rosa’s biological father, shows up with no further notice.
