Resist (2003)
Sobre o filme
A documentary on the fifty years of civil disobedience of the Living Theatre in New York. The cutting edge of avantguard theater, the theater group founded in 1947 became a myth. The company staged more than eighty plays in eight different languages, on four continents, and in 25 countries. This nomadic existence in activist theater was never serene. The members were jailed in Brazil during all of the military dictatorship which triggered protest worldwide. The group is still active, militant in theaters and in the streets with slogans such as ‘Another world is needed’, ‘Not in my name’ (against the death penalty) and ‘To be a pacifist is a duty in life’. The film won the Award from the Public at EuropaCinema Festival, in Viareggio.
