Sobre o filme

An Italian theater group arrives in Paris, one of the cities on a tour with the play “Come Tu Mi Vuoi”, by Luigi Pirandello. The main character is Camille, also companion to Ugo, director of the play and of the theater company. She is the only one of French origin and is returning to her native country three years after having left Pierre, her former suffocating passion, now married to Sonia, a dancing teacher. She is reluctant to meet up with him, but this seems predetermined by fate. Ugo also has a secret: he has come to Paris to try and locate a manuscript supposedly unpublished, from the 18th century, by the celebrated italian playwright Carlo Goldoni. Before finding the manuscript, however, Ugo is to meet the disturbing Dominique. Do, as she is known, is his link with the manuscript for she owns a library that belonged to one of Goldoni?s friends, which is where the unpublished play must be. These encounters and re-encounters are to establish unsustainable conflicts among the relationships that will end in a duel to the death. Va Savoir is a masterly work on the differences and coincidences between spaces and public and private issues, a theme also broached in a masterful fashion by Pirandello’s play that the troupe performs.
